The lingering effects of the shooting in Newtown are evident in a new report from the Danbury area's News-Times, wherein Newtown Schools Superintendent Janet Robinson explained that students across town have not been going outside for recess because of "anxiety." Robinson said a police presence became necessary for students to understand that it is "safe for them to go outside to play." Robinson's statements serve as a reminder of the impact the tragedy had on the students of Sandy Hook's peers throughout the town. Sandy Hook students went back to school a week ago, "excited" to see friends and teachers. 

One parent has asked the Police Commission and the Board of Education to continue providing two police officers per school in the district.
