Monopoly, the 110-year-old board game where players attempt to exploit the dynamics of rentier capitalism for family-friendly fun, is getting a small make-over: one of those tiny silver widgets you move around the board will be replaced, pending a nation-wide vote, with a different silver widget.

Hasbro has launched a "Save Your Token" campaign to retire either the race car, iron, Scottie dog, wheelbarrow, shoe, top hat, thimble or battleship. The company is letting fans vote until Feb. 5 for the one they want to keep via the Monopoly Facebook page. The one with the lowest total goes directly — and permanently — to jail.

The potential replacements: a mischievous-looking cat, a diamond wedding ring, a guitar, a helicopter, and a '50s-era robot. Our vote goes to the helicopter, but only if it comes endowed with a special ability to fly across the Monopoly board.
