The O'Reilly Factor

Bill O'Reilly has been host of Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor since 1996. More information

Since laying claim long ago to the top-rated news program on cable television, O’Reilly has vigorously defended the crown, which has won him a reputation as a pugilist of the right. Although he champions conservative values—he is particularly vocal in his opposition to abortion—O’Reilly has taken some surprising positions. For example, he supports gun control, federal environmental regulations, and civil unions for gay couples.

O’Reilly previously worked as a correspondent for ABC’s and CBS’s news organizations; at CBS, he covered the wars in El Salvador and the Falkland Islands in the 1980s. He relishes a good fight and has had public feuds with everyone from George Soros to Al Franken to Seymour Hersh. On the air, he can be a bully, sometimes talking over his guests and on more than one occasion having their microphones unplugged. Liberals love to demonize him, but they’re always on the lookout for an O’Reilly of the left.

The Tea Party and Extremism

So many Americans simply oppose those things. And you're not an extremist if you do so. You're a concerned citizen. But if you threaten violence, if you traffic in racism, if you call the president a Communist, those are extremist positions. In the end, the Tea Party will rise and fall on well thought-out policy and being able to persuade their fellow citizens they have solutions to complicated problems.

Battle of the Vice Presidents

We are in a war, as I said. We are in a war with the jihadists. The Obama administration doesn't say that with the exception of the State of the Union. But it's true. And I believe truth is a powerful weapon in defeating the Islamic killers, who are trying to destroy us.

Socialism on the Rise?

America was founded on hard work, personal responsibility, and honest achievement. The Feds are there to protect us from outside danger and to make sure the system does not embrace corruption. Socialism has no place in the USA , period.

Al Qaeda is Scary

When terrorists target or kill civilians, that's a violation of the law of war. I mean, a six-year old gets this. So why are we messing around with Mirandizing the underwear bomber?

Angry Americans

President Obama inherited many problems. It'll take time to sort them out. However, the president has not shown great leadership ability thus far. Most polls say most Americans have little confidence in him. So going forward, the president must impose financial discipline, or the Democrats will lose everything. That is priority number one. If Mr. Obama continues to run up debt, his administration will fail.

Media Battles Over Tea Party

You can disagree with the Tea Party all day long, but the spirit of honest citizen involvement in government is noble. Is it not?

Rebutting Jon Stewart

So I understand, I understand the shock and awe that some liberals feel about FOX News. I feel their pain. We are different. But that doesn't mean the network is in business to shill for anybody. It just means that finally conservatives get a break on the tube. And if you object to that, you're not fair and balanced.

Republicans Stupid and Evil?

It's never easy to demonize anyone in America to slander and libel them all day long. There's no question the president has been treated unfairly in some precincts, but the garbage flows both ways. And Mr. Obama should point that out.

Obama, Haiti, and "Bold Fresh Tour"

If the president and I have one big area of disagreement, it is big government. I believe it cannot solve your problems. He believes it can level the playing field, at least somewhat. That hasn't happened in Chicago's Southside, has it?

Breaking Down SOTU

That was a long deal last night, was it not? But I have to say the president delivered his speech very well. He seemed relaxed and in charge.

Obama Moves Right

Talking Points rejects all Kool-Aid drinking and wants what's best for the country. If the President gets away from his liberal tendencies, it can only make America stronger.

The Bold Fresh Tour

On Saturday night in Long Island, New York, Westbury to be exact, the bold Glenn Beck and the fresh Bill O'Reilly took the stage in front of a sold-out house. Judging from crowd reaction, everybody had a good time, including the bold, fresh guys

The Collapse of Liberal Media

Our Fox News correspondents are just as good, and our political coverage is much more balanced than our competition. We like hearing differing opinions. It is more beneficial to you to hear all points of view. After this week, there is no doubt that in the United States of America, Fox News is the go-to network for important information and honest analysis.

Chaos Among Liberals

All of this tells "Talking Points" the left has not learned anything from the elections in Virginia, New Jersey, and Massachusetts. Somehow uber liberals believe that regular folks think they way they do, that massive government spending is terrific, that a nanny state can solve all problems. I mean, how out of touch are these left-wing people?

It's National Security, Stupid

Going forward, President Obama must stop the liberal nonsense. The American people want to be protected. They want the economy to get better. And they don't want a trillion-dollar health care plan nobody can understand. That isn't complicated. Independent voters who will decide most elections in the future are simply angry that far left policies are in play. And if you don't believe me, just look at the far left media outlets. They're all dying. People have had enough.
