Republican Scott Brown has ten years experience in the Massachusetts state legislature and 12 hours experience as the Senator-elect waiting to fill Ted Kennedy's Senate seat. This may not sound like the resume of a presidential candidate, but some see his upset victory in Tuesday's election as ample proof that Brown should run for the White House. It's not a prospect many now take seriously, but it's one receiving a surprising amount of attention.

Is GOP hyperventilation and liberal derision at the prospect of a Scott Brown presidential run inevitable? Or is it the 2012 campaign that's inevitable? After all, Brown's term, which only finishes out Ted Kennedy's six-year term, is up in 2012.

• GOP's New Obama? Darrell Delamaide asks in the Wall Street Journal's MarketWatch blog, "Can Scott Brown, the Republicans' newest star after his stunning upset win in the Massachusetts Senate election, run for president in 2012?" He answers, "yes he can. It's not, as we know, unprecedented. Scott Brown is to the Republicans now what Barack Obama was to the Democrats in 2004 -- a fresh face, a new voice, an 'overnight success' who has been working in politics for years."

• Brown-For-President URLs Snatched Up The Hill's Bob Cusack notes that Internet addresses pertaining to a Scott Brown presidential run have all been suddenly bought up. He also reports, "A Tuesday night posting on Craigslist.org stated, 'Need a great web designer to volunteer their services to create a website to help elect Scott Brown for president in 2012. Only conservatives need apply ... I own 2 superstar domain names ... please email me if you would like to change the direction of America.'"

• Scott Brown: 'Naked White Obama?' Wonkette's Sara K. Smith wonders (in jest) if we even have to wait until 2012. "He is 'young' and 'exciting' and, unlike virtually every other Republican in the Senate, not a wart-covered old troll with a homosexual boyfriend problem. Ergo, Scott Brown will be president. One question, though: will we have to wait till 2012 to elect him?"
  

• But Doesn't GOP Demand Experience? Raw Story's David Edwards recalls some high-profile Republicans condemning Barack Obama's presidential candidacy for lack of experience. He asks, "Will the same conservatives that said then-candidate Obama didn't have enough experience endorse Brown?"

• Charismatic, Untainted by Bush  Politics Daily's Matt Lewis appraises the possibility. "I was just on the radio with [conservative radio host] Jesse Lee Peterson. He predicts Scott Brown will be the next President of the United States... Yes, it's premature to talk 'Brown for Prez', but he 1) isn't tainted by Bush yrs, 2) has charisma, & 3) has as much experience as Obama."
