Coulter immediately struck back in the Ottawa Citizen, calling herself the victim of a "hate crime," and suggesting she was being targeted for being a conservative.
When the address was canceled, however, due to demonstrations and fear of violence, ordinary citizens joined the fray. As of right now there are 1,937 comments on the Globe and Mail story of the cancellation. "She's right," writes one commenter, speaking of Coulter, "In more ways than one." Another disagrees: "Send her back where she crawled out from. This moron is spreading hate, either charge her or deport her."
Coulter herself is hardly turning the other cheek. Taking again to the Ottowa Citizen, she says in an interview that she "never get[s] any trouble at the Ivy League schools. It's always the bush-league schools." Her point is pretty clear: "The University of Ottawa is really easy to get into, isn't it?" she asks.
