Morning Vid: Colbert, Klein Talk Health Care

Jake Simpson Mar 9, 2010
The Colbert Report is not usually a place for sober policy analysis. Host Stephen Colbert is more likely to name his 'Alpha Dog of the Week' than lay out the salient points of financial reform.

But the Comedy Central host sank deep into the weeds of wonkery when he interviewed Washington Post blogger Ezra Klein about the Democrats' procedural options to pass health care reform. The pair discussed the framework for reconciliation, Republican options to stall the bill in the Senate, and whether President Obama is simply a poor salesman.

(Note: For those of you who prefer Stephen the satirist, his preamble to the interview includes a demo of the health care bill being jammed down Uncle Sam's throat.)
