How can an ad about paying for a checkup with live chickens not be funny? Somehow liberal third-party group Patriot Majority, attempting to discredit Republican senatorial candidate Sue Lowden, created a clip that answers that question. 

Lowden had previously brought up bartering as a way of paying for health care. Lampooning the idea could have been as simple as showing a waiting room with a couple of Rhode Island Reds strutting around, clucking--perhaps a rooster or two breaking out of a filing cabinet in a flurry of feathers. Instead, Patriot Majority opted for a spliced reel of people on the street looking tepidly incredulous. Have a look at the missed opportunity:
