In an interview with PBS's Charlie Rose, Emanuel touched on several hot-button topics, from the SEC suing Goldman Sachs ("everybody at the White House found out like everybody else, when it hit the news") to a Senate vote on financial reform ("Yes. I think it will be bipartisan.") When the conversation turned to his life after the White House, Emanuel confirmed speculation that he wants to return to the Windy City.
I hope Mayor Daley seeks reelection. I will work and support him if he seeks reelection. But if Mayor Daley doesn't, one day I would like to run for mayor of the City of Chicago. That's always been an aspiration of mine even when I was in the House of Representatives.
