Video: Obama Says Pundits Just Like Farmers

Max Fisher Apr 2, 2010

"You have to love some of the pundits in Washington," President Obama told a crowd in Maine on Thursday. But if he really loves pundits, he's got a funny way of showing it. Lamenting the drama-hyping coverage of health care reform, Obama mocks the beltway gabbers who still insist the nation is "divided" by health care. "Well yeah," Obama retorts. "It just happened last week!"

He goes on to construct a surprising metaphor.
Could you imagine if some of these reporters were working on a farm. You'd planted some seeds, and the next day they came out and looked. "Nothing's happened! There's no crop! We're gonna starve! Oh no, it's a disaster." It's been a week, folks. So before we find out if people like health care reform, we should wait to see what happens when we actually put it into place. Just a thought.
