Morning Vid: The Daily Show Dances Around Larry Craig's Past

Alex Eichler Jun 3, 2010
Larry Craig, the former Republican senator from Idaho, was at the center of one of the decade's most sensational political sex scandals in 2007, when he pled guilty to a disorderly conduct charge after allegedly trying to solicit a police officer in the men's room of a Minneapolis airport. Craig has since retired from public service, which is why the Daily Show's John Oliver sought him out for comment on Evan Bayh, another senator who's opted not to seek reelection (though Bayh hasn't been embroiled in scandal).

Craig's office told The Daily Show ahead of time that the men's-room incident was off-limits, but when Oliver asks about Craig's favorite perks of being a senator and Craig turns the conversation to airports, it's apparently all Oliver can do not to make the leap. Watch:
