Democratic insiders have hardly been shy when it comes to voicing doubts about the party's chances of keeping the House in November, but they apparently forgot the person whose House is up for grabs: Nancy Pelosi. Politico reports
Pelosi lashed out Tuesday night at White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs for a Sunday "Meet The Press" appearance where he conceded
Democrats could lose the House in the fall. From the transcript:
I think people are going to have a choice to make in the fall. But I think there's no doubt there are enough seats in play that could cause Republicans to gain control.
Pelosi was less than pleased, even though Democratic National Committee chairman Tim Kaine said exactly the same same thing
earlier this week and Gibbs's attempts to backtrack Tuesday afternoon. Per the Politico report:
"How could [Gibbs] know what is going on in our districts?" Pelosi told her members in the caucus meeting in the basement of the Capitol Tuesday night. "Some may weigh his words more than others. We have made our disagreement known to the White House."
