GOP Ad Inspired by JetBlue Flight Attendant

Erik Hayden Aug 17, 2010
In an effort to tap into the zeitgeist, the Republican National Committee has launched a new advertisement putting a twist on the infamous emergency chute exit of Jetblue flight attendant Steven Slater. The video, which has a similar aesthetic to early Jib-Jab creations, features Barack Obama as a stern airplane pilot who informs his passengers (Democratic congressmen) that he's going to be visiting their home states on a national fund-raising tour. The congressmen, naturally, bail on the president via the emergency chute, emitting a stream of shrieks that lasts the entire minute of the ad.

(Speaking of shrieks, former DNC chairman Howard Dean's famous campaign scream also makes an inexplicable appearance.)
