Morning Vid: Stewart Teaches MSNBC How to Properly Manipulate a Video

Benjamin F. Carlson 172 Views Sep 10, 2010

Jon Stewart "once knew, an idealistic young politician with big dreams of how the world worked." He shows a clip of this fresh-faced, inspiring man from 2004, when he delivered a barnstorming, bipartisan speech at the Democratic National Convention in which he insisted "There is not a liberal America. There is not a conservative America. There is the United States of America."

Stewart fast forwards a few years later to the same man, now President Obama, giving a somewhat less-thrilling speech in  Cleveland this week. There, the president took off the bipartisan gloves and hammered away at intransigent Republicans—particularly Minority Leader John Boehner. He highlights the remarkably well choreographed bad reviews of the speech on Fox News before sarcastically laying into MSNBC for failing to stick together in reporting the speech as a triumph.

Don't miss Stewart's particularly horrendous (or inspired?) Arianna Huffington imitation around 4:20.
