Palin Opposes Koran Burning

Gainesville pastor Terry Jones's plan to burn 200 copies of the Koran on Sept. 11 is not exactly filling Americans with a childlike sense of wonder. It's even drawn the ire of Sarah Palin who, in a break from her summer-long defense of cringe-worthy free speech, deemed the plan "insensitive and an unnecessary provocation" in a Facebook post yesterday.

It's worth noting that Palin hasn't always been so kind to books. Time points out that as mayor of Wasilla, Palin sought to ban texts with 'inappropriate language' from the local library.*

*Correction: According to a report by Factcheck.org, Palin did not actually seek to ban books, but "raised the issue" on two or three occasions with the town librarian.
