What doesn't Joe Miller understand about quid pro quo? According to a local political blog, Alaska's GOP Senate hopeful is in hot water with Todd Palin for not attesting to Sarah Palin's presidential readiness. In an interview with Fox News , Miller refused to give an explicit endorsement of Palin saying there are “a number of great candidates out there.” Miller, of course, was plucked from obscurity after Palin endorsed him for the U.S. Senate and he won.

Now Todd Palin's apparently furious with him. In an e-mail unearthed by The Mudflats blog, Todd tells SarahPAC Treasurer Tim Crawford to:

Hold off on any letter for Joe. Sarah put her ass on the line for Joe and yet he can’t answer a simple question “is Sarah Palin Qualified to be President”. I DON’T KNOW IF SHE IS.”

Beyond exposing a rift between two Alaska Republicans, the story also gives credence to those predicting a Palin 2012 presidential bid. It's a fair question to ask: if Palin wasn't going to run for president, why would Miller's non-committal remark matter?
