Happy Hour Vid: Marty Markowitz Serenades New York City Council

Caitlin Dickson Dec 10, 2010
Marty Markowitz wasn't getting his point across to the city council, so at a hearing Thursday he tried something new: singing. The Brooklyn Borough President used the tune of "My Favorite Things" from The Sound of Music to explain to city council members why, although he is a fan of bike lanes in the city, he is opposed to creating a new one on Prospect Park West. According to the New York Daily News, Markowitz printed the lyrics to "My Favorite Lanes" onto a Christmas card which he plans to send out to supporters.
