Rush Limbaugh No Longer Planning to Name Firstborn 'Krauthammer'

Rush Limbaugh's love for Krauthammer has lately been slightly diminished. Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer was one of several prominent conservatives on FOX News Wednesday to praise President Obama's performance at the memorial service for victims of the Arizona shootings, deeming Obama's speech "quite remarkable, extremely effective...extremely successful."

The next day, Rush Limbaugh slammed Krauthammer and his fellow panelists for their positive reactions to the speech. "They were slobbering over it for the predictable reasons," said Limbaugh. "It was smart, it was articulate, it was oratorical. It was all the things the educated ruling class wants their members to be and sound like."

Appearing on FOX again last night, Krauthammer addressed Limbaugh's criticism. "Let me just say," the columnist said, "that I find it interesting only the ruling class wants a president who is smart, articulate, and oratorical in delivering a funeral oration. It's an odd and rather condescending view of what the rest of America is looking for in their president."

In response to this light pushback, Limbaugh has announced his intention to remove the Krauthammer name from his future family tree. "I was going to name my first child Krauthammer, even if it was a girl," Limabugh declared on his show today. "But no more."

In a guest post on National Review's The Corner blog, Krauthammer explains this is the just result he'd been hoping for. "Now you know why I returned Rush’s volley on Fox last night: I’ve just saved that poor little girl a world of hurt."
