Someone tried to send Peter King--New York Congressman, Muslim radicalization hearing leader, and occasional fan of the IRA--a package in the mail. The package contained "a bloody pig's foot with a note attached that contained anti-Semitic ramblings." The note, according to an MSNBC report, "referenced King's controversial hearing last month about Muslim extremism within the United States."

The package never actually reached King's office--it was scanned beforehand and pulled aside. Capitol Hill police are treating the matter as an "open investigation," according to MSNBC. We're no forensics experts, but barring any deliberate attempt to mislead people, it seems like the anti-Semitic note would rule out any Jewish suspects, and the pig's foot itself probably wouldn't have come from a Muslim.
