Fox Denies Giving Huckabee a Deadline

Fox News denies telling Mike Huckabee to make up his mind about running for president by the end of the month, contradicting a report from Real Clear Politics posted Thursday. "There is no truth whatsoever to this report," Bill Shine, the executive vice president of Fox programming, told The Hill's Michael O'Brien. Huckabee denied the report, too. His spokesman reiterated his earlier promise to make a decision this summer.

In March, the network suspended contributors Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum as they made moves toward a presidential campaign, but potential candidates Huckabee and Sarah Palin are still on Fox's payroll. Huckabee has admitted that a factor in his late decision is the nice paycheck he gets from Fox.
