Rep. David Wu has decided to weather the storm of his latest scandal while in office. Yesterday, an adviser to the congressman told Politico that Wu won't run for reelection in 2012 and he won't resign from office due to the allegation he had an unwanted sexual encounter with the daughter of a close family friend. "He isn't going to be running for reelection," the adviser said to Politico, "But he hasn't done anything that rises to the level of requiring him to resign."

The Oregonian reported that Wu is alleged to be involved in "aggressive and unwanted sexual behavior" with the teenaged daughter of a campaign donor last Thanksgiving. Wu's also relatively infamous for his bizarre campaign antics and as the "Tiger Costume" congressman--referring to earlier this spring when Wu went on Good Morning America to explain why he sent a picture of himself in the costume to his staff members.

Wu has since put out a statement indirectly addressing the scandal, according to National Journal. "This is very serious, and I have absolutely no desire to bring unwanted publicity, attention, or stress to a young woman and her family," it read. Nevertheless, Nancy Pelosi has called on the Ethics Committee to investigate Wu's actions. "With deep disappointment and sadness about this situation, I hope that the Ethics Committee will take up this matter," her statement read, via Politico.
