Politico reports that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has selected the three Democrats to serve on the 12-member bipartisan deficit reduction super committee: Sens. John Kerry, Max Baucus and Patty Murray, who will serve as co-chair. Later, the super committee will meet later this year with the task of cutting federal spending by  $1.2 trillion in savings to prevent cuts laid out in the debt limit deal from taking place. The official announcement is expected tomorrow. The remaining Congressional leaders have until August 16 to announce the full committee.
