This won't bode well for Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann: Staffer Peter E. Waldron was arrested for terrorist activities in Uganda back in 2006, reports The Atlantic's Garance Franke-Ruta. At issue was "possession of assault rifles and ammunition," and he was arrested "just days before Uganda's first multi-party elections in 20 years." Waldron, who helped Bachmann organize her faith-based campaigning, spent 37 days in prison after the weapons were found in his home. The charges were ultimately dropped after Waldron's friends and possibly the Bush administration, according to Waldron, put on the pressure.
