A day after bomb squads were called to John Boehner's Ohio offices when three suspicious briefcases were left behind, three Alaskan politicians received suspicious packages in the mail Monday, the Associated Press reports. Sens. Mark Begich and Lisa Murkowski and Rep. Don Young. Begich all received pieces of mail containing a white powder. A Begich staff member opened a box sent from Arizona when a white powder started pouring out, according to Begich spokeswoman Julie Hasquet. “When she took off the tape, some white powder … came out, enough so that it alerted her to call the security offices in the federal building in Fairbanks,” Hasquet said. Tests by the Anchorage hazardous materials team turned up negative for radiation and acidity. The FBI has told Rep. Young's office the white powder sent to them in an envelope was actually concrete mixture, Fox News' Chad Pergram tweets. None of the people exposed to the powder have suffered any apparent injuries.
