Oregon Rep. David Wu should have more time to relax and smoke cigars now. Wu officially handed in his resignation letter Wednesday to Oregon Governor John Kitzhaber and Speaker of the House John Boehner, Talking Points Memo reports. "Serving as a U.S. Congressman has been the greatest honor of my life. There is no other job where you get up each day and ask, 'How can I try to make the world a better place today?'" Wu wrote in a statement. His resignation took effect at 11:59 p.m. Wednesday. In his statement Wu wrote he hopes to be remembered for his investments in science and education and his support for civil liberties. Wu resigned after a history of unusual behavior culminated with an accusation from a personal friend's teenage daughter of an unwanted sexual encounter
