Dick Cheney Psyched for 'Heads Exploding All Over Washington'
When former Vice President Dick Cheney embarked on a PR blitz last week for his new memoir, In My Time, he predicted that "there are gonna be heads exploding all over Washington." And, sure enough, the book has former Bush officials like Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice fuming. But President Bush himself is keeping a cool head, despite one passage in which Cheney describes Bush clearing a room to consult with the vice president over whether to bomb a building where Saddam Hussein was thought to be hiding, suggesting, contrary to Bush's telling, that Cheney was in control during the early days of the Iraq war. "I'm glad members of my family are giving their version of what it was like to serve our country," Bush told Fox & Friends at a charity golf event today, in reference to former officials in his administration. "I did the same thing. I put my version out there. And eventually, objective historians will analyze our administration and will draw objective conclusions." Here's the clip, via Politico:
