Fox News is reporting that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will endorse GOP front runner Mitt Romney for president just a week after he held a press conference definitely announcing he wouldn't seek the nomination himself. Beyond ending the speculation that seemed never to go away that Christie might jump in, this should lend Romney a positive news cycle going into tonight's debate. A later tweet, citing the reporting of Carl Cameron, says that the endorsement will be made in Hanover, New Hampshire, the site of tonight's Republican debate.

Update 1:37 p.m.: The Romney campaign has confirmed the endorsement. Christie is expected to give a press conference at 3 p.m. today, Politico reports.
