Herman Cain's frontrunner status in the GOP presidential primary has earned him a nice chunk of change in October. Cain's chief-of-staff Mark Block (yes, the same chain-smoking Mark Block from Cain's now famous slow-smile TV spot) reports to CNN that the former pizza magnate received $3 million from some 65,000 campaign donors so far this month. "The figure represents a huge surge in the campaign's fundraising, and totals more than money raised in the previous three previous months combined," CNN reports. "The spike corresponds with Cain's big leap in the polls during the last month." The single-month take-in compares nicely to both Rick Perry's and Mitt Romney's fundraising totals for the third quarter of this year. For the months of July, August, and September, Perry brought in $17 million while Romney brought in $14 million--making for monthly fundraising averages of $5.7 million and $4.7 million, respectively.
