Mitt Romney's $14 million fundraising total, according to Politico's Mike Allen, means that Rick Perry's $17 million haul will win the third quarter campaign finance sweepstakes. National Journal's Sarah Huisenga writes that Michele Bachmann, who was not expected to impress, decided to sidestep the whole money comparison by not releasing a fundraising total at all and instead point to the number of individuals who donated to her campaign: 92,000. But you can do some simple math: She reports getting an average donation of $42, which, across 92,000 donors, meaning she raised about $3.9 million, $300,000 less than she did in the previous quarter.
