Ron Paul is no stranger to fundraising coups, as his record of successful "moneybombs" shows. But his third-quarter haul is still impressive: A Paul campaign official told Politico's Dan Hirschhorn that the candidate had raked in $8 million over the quarter, a figure Paul's expected to make official during an appearance at the National Press Club on Wednesday. That's still significantly less than Rick Perry's $17 million for the quarter, but for the perpetual underdog who can't seem to get his share of media mentions, it's still pretty good. And as Paul's camp will be proud to point out, it's carrying more than 100,000 donors, which is more than Perry.
