Nancy Pelosi Tells Jon Stewart the Super Committee Should Be Televised

Around the same time as last night's GOP debate, Jon Stewart chatted with House Minority leader Nancy Pelosi, who had one idea for helping to reduce America's debt: put the Super Committee on TV. It's all in the name of openness and transparency, Pelosi suggested to The Daily Show host (7:27 in video): "So what I would like to see ... I think the point is now what we should say to the twelve people on the Super Committee, get in a room, sit down, reach agreement, on public television." Imagine: it would be like the GOP debate, except with bigger consequences. Unfortunately, Stewart didn't tee off on the suggestion, he appeared to just be transitioning to a commercial break, noting "I think we have a beer to sell."
