Taking a breather from staving off financial Armageddon at the G-20 Summit today, President Obama had a little fun at French President Nicolas Sarkozy's expense. Actually, he was rather nicely congratulating Sarkozy on his daughter's birth. Sarkozy's wife, model/singer/first lady Carla Bruni gave birth to la petite Giulia last month, and Obama has high hopes for the little girl:

I want to congratulate Nicolas and Carla on the birth of Giulia. And I informed Nicolas on the way in that I was confident Giulia inherited her mother's looks, rather than her father's, which I think is an excellent thing.

Sarkozy was good-natured about the ribbing. Unsurprising, since we're sure the American President isn't the first to point out that Madame Presidente is très ravissant.
