Karen Kraushaar, whom some media outlets identified today as one of the two women who settled with the National Restaurant Association after having alleged that Herman Cain had sexually harassed them, has given an interview to The New York Times.

Kraushaar had previously allowed her lawyer to speak on her behalf while maintaining her anonymity. But now that she has been identified as a spokeswoman at the Treasury Department, she has come forward.

She tells the Times:

"When you are being sexually harassed in the workplace, you are extremely vulnerable ... You do whatever you can to quickly get yourself into a job some place safe and that is what I thought I had achieved when I left." ... She said she did not know whether or how she might tell more of her story but said that she had been warming "to the idea of a joint press conference where all of the women would be together with our attorneys and all of this evidence would be considered together."

The woman's comments were published less than an hour before Cain was scheduled to give a press conference. Follow our ongoing coverage here
