Update: Perry is also attempting to use his brain-flub moment to flex is humor muscles.  On his official website, a new poll asks, "What part of the Federal Government would you like to forget about the most?"

Governor Rick Perry is wasting no time trying to spin his bonehead moment from last night's debate into a fundraising victory for his floundering campaign. According to Zeke Miller at Business Insider, he's already emailed supporters acknowledging the gaffe and asking for more money to push his agency cutting agenda.

Naturally, it wasn't hard to spin Perry's inability to remember the name of a federal agency into a vindication of his desire to get rid of it. ("The fact that he can't remember proves that there's too many agencies!" "This agency is so pointless I can't even remember what it's called!") He's even trying to start a Twitter hashtag, #forgetmenot, to get fans to name the federal agency they'd most like to see go away.

From the email:

"Write us to let us know what federal agency you would most like to forget.

Is it the EPA and its job-killing zealots? The NLRB and its czar-like dictates? The edu-crats at the Department of Education who aim to control your local curriculum?

Send your answer to forgetmenot@rickperry.org, and if you are on twitter join us in using a new twitter hashtag: #forgetmenot.

And, if you could, throw in a $5 contribution for every agency you would like to forget.

Every crisis is an opportunity as they say, and Perry is making the most of his.
