President Obama spoke in Cedar Rapids, Iowa Wednesday afternoon to a company that builds conveyor belts, the first stop on his three day tour of five states, and he rehashed themes from Tuesday's State of the Union and emphasized the need to bring manufacturing jobs to America. KCCI Des Moines notes that such post-State of the Union trips are pretty common, "allowing presidents to temporarily bask in the afterglow of their prime-time performances," and also letting them visit key states in their reelection bid. (The president will visit Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, and Michigan after this.)

Based on some of the rhetorical echoes from the State of the Union used in this speech, like his idea that manufacturing in America should be "built to last" (like GMC! Trucks!), prepare to hear him hit a lot of last night's points in the next few days.
