Like Steve Jobs' black turtlenecks and Don Draper's pocket squares, Rick Santorum's sweater vest (for better or worse) has now become his signature look and now has produced a nifty campaign slogan. We mentioned Santorum's affinity for the sleeveless sartorial choice over the weekend, but thanks to his recent popularity--his sweater vests have now become the things of theories, Internet videos and inevitable media scrutiny. Santorum was more than happy to oblige for a sweater vest origin story on Monday, pointing to a speech he gave at Mike Huckabee's anti-abortion forum. "That speech went over very, very well. If there was one event that really began the moment, it was that speech. And I think most people recognized that here, so all the sudden the sweater vest was like, 'Fear the vest,'" Santorum joked with Laura Ingraham yesterday (audio below).
