The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that former presidential candidate Herman Cain turned down an offer to appear on the next season of Dancing with the Stars, and that he did so with his typical panache.

"He can’t dance in an eight-count. He can only dance in a nine-count,” Lisa Reichert, Cain’s assistant, tells the paper. (That's a 9-9-9 joke, for those of you just catching up.) The item is only funny because snarky commentators typically eulogized Cain's campaign by saying it was only so long before he got a Fox News hosting gig or appeared elsewhere in the politics-as-entertainment industry. But apparently not... yet. We're betting he opts for Celebrity Apprentice, but here's to hoping he goes with The Bachelorette instead.
