Paul Ryan Endorses Mitt Romney

Budget wonk and conservative dreamboat Paul Ryan endorsed Mitt Romney for the Republican presidential nomination on Fox and Friends Friday morning, saying that Romney is the best guy for the job, and, by the way, "the more we drag it out, the harder it is to win in November." Romney has been getting the backing of many important establishment Republicans who'd remained neutral in the race so far, like former president George H.W. Bush and his son, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush. The Wisconsin congressman's endorsement comes just a few days before the state's primary, where Romney is now leading Rick Santorum by 7 percentage points.

BuzzFeed reported Ryan's endorsement was coming Monday night, and said the price of his backing was Romney's endorsement of Ryan's budget plan. When Fox's Gretchen Carlson asked if that was true, Ryan insisted it wasn't. When asked if the price was being Romney's running mate, Ryan said that wasn't true either. And when Carlson asked if he'd be the best vice presidential pick, Ryan almost blushed, only strengthening his dreamboat credentials.
