SarahPAC's Fundraising Priorities Show a Diva at Work

Sarah Palin did not like Game Change because it made her look like an uninformed diva more obsessed with her image than politics, which is why it's funny that her political action committee spent $19,000 on a video rebutting the film, but nothing on actual politicians. 

According to Politico's Kenneth P. Vogel, who got ahold of SarahPAC's first-quarter financial reports, the PAC raised $388,000 in the first quarter of 2012, but spent $418,000 over the same period, including $19,000 to make a video rebutting Game Change, called "Game Change We Can Believe In". "The PAC also paid $4,500 to reserve space at Channelside Bay Mall in Tampa, Fla., near the site of the Republican National Convention, suggesting that Palin plans to have an independent presence at the event separate from the formal proceedings," Vogel noted, another expense geared more toward the Palin brand than anything else.

The video's not the biggest expense, but it's the most ironic, considering the leadership PAC's mission is to support other politicians and campaigns. It reminds us a little of her character's insistence in the HBO movie that the McCain campaign fund a poll in Alaska where they already know she'll win.
