Business owners are not keen on the job Obama is doing and "bubble state" Missouri goes for Romney. Here's our guide to today's polls and why they matter.

Findings: 59 percent of business owners disapprove of Obama, the most out of all professions surveyed. Followed closely were those who work in "farming, fishing, or forestry" with 57 percent disapproval. Professional workers approve of Obama the most at 52 percent, while approval among those business owners is just 35 percent.

Pollster: Gallup

Methodology: 25,464 employed adults aged 18 and over in Gallup Daily tracking between April 1 and June 30 with a margin of error is +/-1 percentage point. 

 Why it matters: The poll was conducted before the "you didn't build that" statement — so that would not explain business owner's 6 point drop in approval for Obama in Gallup's first quarter poll — but, as the Washington Post notes, "it’s clear why Romney has latched onto that remark — business owners are a group already primed to be skeptical of the president." 

Caveat: Whereas professional workers had a sample size of 6,438, business owners had the third smallest sample size at 880 and a margin of error of 4 percentage points.

Findings: In Missouri, Romney leads Obama 49 percent to Obama's 40 percent. 

Pollster: We Ask America

Methodology: 1,172 likely voters in Missouri were surveyed in an automated poll July 24. The margin of error is +/-3 percent. 

Why it matters: While the poll says that some think Missouri is a "toss-up state" for the presidency (Charles Mahtesian at Politico called Missouri an "on the bubble" state in May), this does not look very close. 

Caveat: Some describe We Ask America as right-leaning polling firm.
