Laura Ricketts, daughter of TD Ameritrade's Joe Ricketts, the man made briefly famous for his dashed "metrosexual, black Abe Lincoln" anti-Obama ad, is launching a Super PAC of her own called LPAC, a lesbian Super PAC that already has supporters in Jane Lynch and Billie Jean King. "Being a woman and being gay is really a unique position in our society," Ricketts said according to The Associated Press.  You could argue that Ricketts, being a lesbian and LGBT activist in her family of conservative, Chicago Cubs-owning men is in a unique position as well. One of the big reasons we know so much about the Ricketts' politics was because of the discovery of Papa Ricketts's connection to a race-baiting Super PAC ad concept (later repudiated) which, among other things, wanted to paint President Obama as a "metrosexual, black Abe Lincoln" back in May.

For now, the younger Rickett's LPAC sounds way less partisan than that earlier idea from her dad. Per the AP:

LPAC beneficiaries have not been finalized, although candidates such as [U.S. Rep. Tammy] Baldwin and campaigns to defeat ballot measures that would ban same-sex marriages or restrict access to abortions are likely to be recipients of donations. ...

Unlike the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund, which supports gay candidates, and Emily’s List, which is dedicated to electing Democratic women who support abortion rights, LPAC plans to promote men and women from either major party as well as ballot initiatives.
