Romney-Inspired Trinkets Suddenly More Creative, Still Mostly Hideous

Mitt Romney was the candidate who inspired the least creative fan art during the 2012 Republican primary. On eBay, there was a 6-foot-tall Rick Perry flower pot, a Newt Gingrich coloring book, and a Sarah Palin cleavage-focused jar, but the most interesting Romney item were some "presidential candidate" cufflinks. But not anymore! Since he's become the Republican nominee, eBay artists have increased their creative output. Here's some of the most interesting stuff we found.

This "Mitt Romney We Love You Too art painting" starts at $199. It's an acrylic portrait, which was also written about by New York Magazine's Daily Intel blogger Noreen Malone.

For $3 plus shipping, you can acquire "Republican Mitt Romney Deodorant! Get's B.O. out of D.C." The seller explains, "MITT DEODORANT KNOCKS B.O. RIGHT OUT OF THE WHITE HOUSE AND HELPS CONTROL THE PROFUSE SWEATING OF AMERICANS WONDERING WHERE THERE NEXT PAYCHECK IS COMING FROM!"

The seller of this $34.99 doll, packaged as Barbie's grandpa, thinks it resembles Mitt Romney.

This picture is listed as "Limited Edition of Mitt Romney's Cayman Island Beach (?) Print by Janet Walker." It is not, obviously, Romney's beach house -- Romney doesn't have a house in the Caymans, just investments there. The asking price is $10,000, but there is a small discount: "For this item only, I am offering free shipping in the US.  Price is in U.S. Dollars, though I might be willing to accept a numbered bank account from you know where!" the seller says.

Even the vintage items are getting better. This 1968 poster mocks Romney's dad for his tendency to make the dreaded gaffe. The younger Romney knows something about that. The poster is $29.99.

Jimmy Fallon has noted this interpretation of Romney by the guy who paints a lot of political stuff, sometimes with pancakes on their heads. It's $50.
