Rep. Todd Akin says he's staying in the race for Senate against Missouri Democrat Claire McCaskill despite the controversy over his rape comments. His deadline to drop out without going to court is 5p.m. Tuesday. "I want to make things absolutely clear. We are going to continue with this race for the United States Senate," Akin said in an interview with Mike Huckabee. He says he has the support of "a whole lot of regular people" even if he doesn't have "the big party people" or "the guys who can write the million dollar checks." He said nobody thought he'd win the primary either.
