President Obama said he's learned some lessons in the White House, and this one is a pretty disappointing lesson: "The most important lesson I’ve learned is that you can’t change Washington from the inside. You can only change it from the outside." Obama was speaking at a Univision forum Thursday, where he got some pretty tough questions, like why the consulate in Libya wasn't better protected and why he hadn't passed immigration reform in his first year as he promised. Mitt Romney quickly picked up the gaffe, saying in a stump speech, "We're gonna give him that chance in November -- he's going outside!" Romney continued, "His slogan was, 'Yes we can,' his slogan now is 'No we can't.'"

Update: New York's Dan Amira notes that Romney said exactly the same thing in 2007: "I don't think you change Washington from the inside. I think you change it from the outside."
