A Majority of Swing State Voters Don't Think They're Better Off
Following a disappointing debate marked by a lack of comebacks on the president's part, political journalists are saying a speech in Denver today felt like the president's George Costanza moment. In an episode of Seinfeld entitled "The Comeback," Costanza is fixated on delivering a comeback to a coworker. The comeback in question: "Well, the Jerk Store called, and they're running out of you."
Breitbart's John Nolte tweeted:
Costanza's 'jerk store' moment returns! MT @edhenrytv potus says romney "doingfine w/accountant" (prob wishes he used last nite)

Like George Constanza's "jerk store" quest, @barackobama is now hitting Romney back ... the day AFTER.
— John Nolte(@NolteNC) October 4, 2012
And Slate's Dave Weigel:
At speech in Colorado, President Obama tells Americans that the jerk store has run out of Mitt Romney.
— daveweigel (@daveweigel) October 4, 2012
And The Washington Post's Chris Cillizza:
Obama hitting back today at all of Romney's attacks last night is the ultimate Costanza "jerk store" moment.

BuzzFeed's McKay Coppins noted how popular it was:
I have seen literally four different people on Twitter in the last 10 mins compare Obama's speech to George Costanza's "jerk store" line.

We'd go out on a limb to say that no presidential candidate wants to have a Costanza moment (even though Obama has been compared to the character before), but at least it wasn't a Kramer moment.
