Update: 3:19 p.m. Romney and and Obama's lunch has concluded and those two brilliant minds have figured out how to cure all of America's ills all we're left with at the moment is a ho-hum and cordial assurance that the two will be in touch.

And this feel-good quote from the White House about how they talked about "America's leadership in the world and the importance of maintaining that leadership position in the future."

So far, the most hard-hitting thing about the lunch is that Mitt Romney's free lunch consisted of chili and something that sounds like you'd be able to purchase at Wendy's:

Oh, and the Secret Service helped arrest a guy who got in the way of Romney's motorcade.

Original: As promised, and looking a bit more cleaned-up than when he was pumping his own gas, former presidential hopeful Mitt Romney stopped by the White House for lunch this afternoon. Nobody knows what he talked about with Barack Obama (press was not invited), but White House spokesman Jay Carney gave an inch: "Jay Carney said Obama had no specific agenda for the meeting, but he said the president wanted to discuss Romney's ideas for making government more efficient," reports the AP. Regardless of what those two talk chat about, it'll be a happier affair than past meetings like these. The lunch capped off a busy day for Romney, who met with running mate Paul Ryan this morning.
