Questioning President Obama's record in an election year beyond "driving us over a fiscal cliff," Sarah Palin went on Fox News last night to blast Time's pick of Obama as the magazine's 2012 Person of the Year. "I think there is some irrelevancy there," Palin told Greta van Susteren, throwing doubt on Time's ability to judge who truly matters — you know, like Sarah Palin circa 2008. I mean consider their list of the most influential people in the country and the world, some who have made that list -- yours truly! that ought to tell you something right there regarding the credence we should give Time magazine and their list of people.

There were certainly some less obvious choices for Time's honor this year, as The Atlantic's Brian Fung pointed out. And Palin was not alone in the chorus following yesterday's announcement insisting that the honor is becoming increasingly more ridiculous. Time included her in its 2008 Person of the Year issue — as one of 130 runners-up to Obama the first time he was honored — as well its 2009 Time 100, in which Ann Coulter declared the Palin was "arguably the most influential person in 2008" and that "the only thing I have against her is that she threatens to surpass me in attracting the left's hatred."
