Today Wayne LaPierre, the Executive Vice President of the National Rifle Association, returned to face Congress once again and told the Senate Judiciary Committee's hearing on gun violence that several proposed methods of gun control — more thorough background checks, banning certain kinds of guns — won't tamp down the proliferation of gun violence. His testimony lacked the theatrics of his press conference last December, when he placed blamed on a decade-old Flash-based videogame called "Kindergarten Killers," but otherwise he repeated the NRA's talking points: that current gun laws are sufficient, and that schools ought to install armed guards to prevent school shootings. His remarks came minutes after former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords implored the Committee to "be courageous" in addressing gun violence.

After the NRA released LaPierre's prepared remarks on Tuesday, many had been wondering whether he would assume a more subdued tone or not. Watch LaPierre's testimony below:
