President Obama's big New Republic interview from a few days ago contained an important revelation: he shoots skeet "all the time" at Camp David, the secretive Maryland retreat where presidents like to relax and host foreign officials visiting the United States. But does he really shoot stuff? Almost immediately, critics pounced on Obama's comments, arguing that they amounted to little more than covert political messaging — he's never actually operated a firearm! — instead of an honest answer about his gun-shooting habits.

Jon Stewart isn't very sympathetic to this speculation. "Since when did the ability a fire a weapon become a badge of honor, a patriotic achievement?" he asked. "All you need is a finger!"
