Good Question!

Has Electric Killed The Hydrogen Car?

Carl Franzen Sep 18, 2009
It wasn't so long ago that the hydrogen was being hyped as the miracle solution to the automobile carbon-emissions problem. Any hopes that President Obama would boost funding were quickly dashed, however. On Friday, Guardian writer Bibi van der Zee felt compelled to ask whether the current fixation with hybrid gas-electric vehicles has doomed a promising technology:
Has electric killed the hydrogen car? Have manufacturers looking for a green option decided that hydrogen is just too niche and that electricity is a better bet?
She goes on to review automakers' plans for future vehicle development, concluding that some hope remains for hydrogen, but it is definitely "on the sickbed." What's your take?
