WHERE: UK's Guardian newspaper. Also available in his new book, "Our Choice: A Plan to Solve the Climate Crisis," on sale at Amazon.com for $14.57
WHAT: An ode to the coming climate-change apocalypse
LENGTH: Seven bleak stanzas
A WORD OF WARNING TO ALL YOU "LEADERS" AT COPENHAGEN: "The hour of choosing has arrived"
IF OCEANS COULD TALK: They'd have a lot to moan about:
"Fever settles on an acid sea
Neptune's bones dissolve"
THIS IS NO TIME FOR A SONNET:
Snow glides from the mountain
Ice fathers floods for a season
A hard rain comes quickly
Then dirt is parched
Kindling is placed in the forest
For the lightning's celebration
Unknown creatures
Take their leave, unmourned
Horsemen ready their stirrups
Passion seeks heroes and friends
The bell of the city
On the hill is rung
The shepherd cries
The hour of choosing has arrived
